Serving Travis and Williamson Counties

Now offering complete Stump Removal Services!

At the start of 2024, BCD Tree, expanded its services to include stump removal. I purchased this Barreto SG30, which is on tracks, so it has the added ability to scale slopes and small staircases. This machine is also very narrow, so it fits through most gates. I wish to establish this service, so I am very excited to get the machine out in the public, and put it to work. Please call or email me with any questions on pricing and to schedule our new stump removal service. In closing, I can take care of any job, big or small.

I paid for the machine “in full”, it emptied the bank account, but owning the machine outright, enables me to grind stumps at a price, that my competition cannot even compete with. Most companies, rent a stump grinder, at a costly daily rate, then pass the costs onto their customers. I own and maintain this highly efficient machine, which saves you on costs.

Complete Tree Care

Every member of our client family, share one thing in common. They all really love their trees. Our clients, are aware of both the economic property value increase that healthy trees add, as well as, the psychological and health benefits that trees provide to property owners and the community. Healthy, properly maintained trees are by far and away, the biggest asset in your urban environment. I am certainly biased, but my love and dedication to the trees on our private properties, public parks, and in our urban forests, is not only a career, but a true passion.

Aboriculture to me, is where “art meets science”. Property owners trim their trees for aesthetics, and for safety concerns, but the amount of scientific study involving tree operations, has become truly massive. The core of our most recent studies, involves why trees do what they do, in our urban forests, and the importance of valuing, as well as, preserving this asset.

A complete Arborist, has the unique perspective, of having performed both major aspects of tree care, one being field work with a crew, that includes climbing abilities, and secondly, the accurate and precise client consultations. We are a complete firm, that caters to a growing client family. Whether you need a simple roof clearance, or a Level 3 TRAQ(Tree Risk Assessment Qualified) Arborist Report, we can provide these services with your budget in mind. We keep all of our work “in house”, we do not use any subcontractors, we own all of our equipment, and you have our assurances, that the owner will personally show up on every site, work with the crew, and make sure that the highest quality standards are met.

We at BCD Tree, offer tree pruning, removals, cabling/bracing, air spading, land clearing, fertilization, injections(including Oak Wilt), mitigation for both safety and ordinance compliance, pest control, diagnosis including plant health care, tree preservation plans/programs, and appraisals. Over the years, we have produced and submitted many different types of reports, for many clients, The City of Austin, has even used our firm twice. Our trust and high integrity, has allowed us to work as a consultant, for many municipalities and organizations. This consulting work, is all public record, and examples of our Arborist Reports, are all on digital files, easily obtained and accessible.

Pest Control

Pest Control Management, uses a comprehensive detailed and thought out process, using the Integrated Pest Management(IPM) Best Practices guideline, which is a collective process, where a peer group forms a course of action, that places ecological impacts first, and places the use of chemical agents, as the last resort. The action taken, first considers using, manual, mechanical, biological, cultural, engineering and chemical controls to manage a pest. Proper pest management, requires you to identify the pest, study the pest, consult with your peers on the best pest management practices, then produce a plan of action, that is both communicated and approved by the property owner or steward. The 2 biggest objectives to consider are, the impacts of your action on the environment, and costs. If any chemical agent is to be used, the preferred agent, should be one that specifically targets the pest, and has the least level of toxicity. Careful selection of any agent, is always discussed among professionals, and approved by our client. We take very seriously, the responsibility in selecting an agent, that will do the least amount of damage to the eco-system, and effectively target the pest.

We at BCD Tree and Environmental, hold the highest Pesticide and Herbicide Applicators License offered by the Texas Department of Agriculture(TDA). We have the ability to use the very best agents, only available to licensed professionals. We can treat any pest, both inside and outside of structures.

Perhaps your property has weeds in your turfgrass, an insect infestation like Army Ants, unwanted vermin residing within your land, to tree diseases, such as Oak Wilt, we can help to suppress, remove and even eradicate most of these problems.

Our Arborist continuing education programs, offer a wide range of courses in order to diversify subject matter. One of the many points that is frequently repeated is our saying “Right Tree, Right Place, Right Time”. This principle encompasses selecting the best species of tree to be planted, that is compatible with your site conditions and planted at the right time of the year. We can work with you, to plant trees on your site, that have the greatest chance to become fully mature and healthy trees. We go to great lengths to select the highest quality trees available, and install them correctly, to insure that they will “thrive” on your property. There is much more to this process, but we can help guide you through it.

Low Voltage Landscape Lighting

Over the years, our team has installed many low voltage landscape lighting systems. These systems when operating during the night, add real “pop” to your landscape and hardscape. With today’s low voltage lighting systems, utilizing cool burning LED bulbs, installing a few fixtures, has become safer, more efficient, and with stronger effects. The increased lumen output these systems produce, provide a strong “wow” factor to your outdoor living aspect. The use of LED bulbs, require only about 15% of the voltage, compared to previous systems. LED bulbs last on average, around 10 years, so these systems require less maintenance. These systems can now be designed to use less transformers, and the fixtures are connected using a smaller copper wiring, that make the material costs of installing a system, extremely affordable. Newer transformers are now WiFi enabled, that give homeowners the ability to adjust the system run times , from their cell phones.

The issue with landscape lighting has always been, poor installation. If the wiring connections are not perfect, using the proper sealants, moisture creeps in over time, and the systems fail. We always make strong and proper connections, and calculate voltage requirements as needed, to insure a long lasting, problem free system. We install new systems, as well as, upgrading and repairing an existing one.
